Ordering your cake

How do I order a cake?

To obtain a cake quote, simply complete the Contact form and I will come back to you as soon as possible. Cost is based on your individual design and number of people to feed. Just let me know your ideas no matter how big or small and I'll work my magic to design something especially for you. I can then provide you some design options if required and indicative costs. Once we've confirmed design, I'll then provide a Formal cake design/quote which outlines the Detailed cake design, confirmed Cost and Deposit details.

How much do your cakes cost?

As I create individually-designed custom cakes, prices are determined by the size of the cake and the complexity & style of the design. If you would like to obtain a quote, please provide your details via the Contact form and I will come back to you as soon as possible. Overall Cost will be confirmed once design is finalised.

How much notice do you need?

I do prefer as much notice as you can give as I can get booked up months in advance.

If you have a late notice request, by all means let me know and if I have availability I will always try to accommodate your request.

What deposit is required?

A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking for your order, with the balance due by bank transfer prior to pickup (balance due date determined by event).

For cake orders within 10 days of the occasion date, payment is required in full to secure your booking for your order.

What happens if I need to change or cancel my order?

Please note Cancellations will incur a $50.00 administration fee and Refunds will not be issued for cancellations within 3 weeks of the delivery date. Changes made before the occasion date may incur a fee to cover the cost of reworking the design and/or work already completed on your order.

What Cake Flavours are available?

I want my cakes to taste as good as they look, so I make them all from scratch using only the freshest ingredients. My most popular cake flavours are: - Chocolate Mud cake
- White Chocolate/Vanilla Mud cake - Caramel Mud cake Please note, above flavours also available in Gluten Free (and I've been told I do a wicked GF Chocolate Mud). Other flavours available are (some at additional cost):- - Vanilla Buttercake - Marbled muds (choice of 2 std Mud flavours) **Extra cost for small cakes
- Chocolate & Raspberry Mud **Extra cost - White Chocolate/Vanilla & Raspberry Mud **Extra cost
- ‘Cookies & Cream’ Mud (White Chocolate Mud with crushed Oreos) - Coconut

- Hazelnut **Extra cost If you've got something else in mind, let me know and I'll see what I can create for you. For multiple tiered cakes, you can select a different cake flavour for each tier (subject to size of tiers). I also offer Special dietary requirement options eg. Gluten free, Nut free, etc. Please note, the RCC kitchen is not strictly Nut or Gluten-free (so not advisable for those with severe food allergies) though each cake is made in a strictly isolated environment.

What Cake Fillings are available?

My cakes are primarily filled with Ganache under the fondant/top layer and in between the cake layers. All fillings are made from scratch and some can be tinted to match your design, using gel paste which requires the most minimal amount of colouring. Ganache is available in the following flavours: - White chocolate - Milk chocolate - Dark chocolate - Caramel (made using white chocolate) or Salted Caramel. I can also do Buttercream filling on request (available between May-Oct when the weather is a little kinder and not available for 3D sculpted or Double-height cakes).

When your cake is ready

Can you deliver cakes?

At present, cakes are only available for pickup from Balmain, Sydney. A delivery service is available (at cost) for weddings and large tiered-cake orders.

How do I transport my cake?

As a minimum, Cakes are provided in a half box for transport. Assistance will be provided to help you get your cake into your car where required, but it always helps if you have someone to hold the cake for the journey. In warmer weather, air-conditioning is essential.

How do I store my cake before the event?

Cakes need to be kept in a cool, dry place like a benchtop, but definitely NOT the fridge as it makes the fondant sweat. The fondant and ganache acts as a seal so the cake will remain fresh until you're ready to enjoy it!!


Do you provide a Wedding Cake consultation service?

Yes I offer a Wedding Cake consultation & design service which includes Cake design, Cake Tasting and the option of a Cake Delivery/setup service. To enquire, please provide your details via the Contact form. We can then arrange a cake consultation approintment for a suitable date. For your cake consultation & design, I will meet with you both in person to discuss aspects of your wedding such as overall styling, theme, colours, flowers, as well as attributes of you as a couple which are taken into account in designing your Wedding cake. It is also useful to provide an idea of dress design/materials as I can also incorporate aspects of this into the cake design.

Do you offer Wedding Cake Tastings?

For Wedding bookings made, I offer cake tastings of up to 3 different Cake Flavours only and up to 2 different fillings (in whichever combination you choose) 'Complimentary' as part of my Wedding Cake service. Tasting cakes are provided to you as a small 2.5" Diameter round cake with 3 layers, for each flavour, which you can either taste onsite or take away with you and enjoy in the privacy of your own home.

Can you deliver our Wedding Cake?

Wedding Cake Delivery can be provided 'At cost' and your Wedding cake would be hand-delivered by myself direct to your venue. Cake Delivery charges are $1.50 per kilometre (round trip). Cake Delivery includes:- - basic cake setup onsite at your venue (if required) ie. assembly of cakes/tiers if required - cake placement on the table and - arrangement of fresh flowers (if supplied by you and if part of your cake design). Please note, flower placement will be determined as part of your cake design.
